The handling of the heavy, complex dies, weighing from several tons to dozens of tons, is one of the most dangerous and time-consuming jobs on the shop floor in high-tonnage metal stamping. Traditional methods of turning and flipping dies to perform maintenance, inspection or setup tasks rely on overhead cranes or manual rigging. Such approaches create serious safety concerns, put expensive tooling at risk for damage and result in major operational bottlenecks. The Chain Rotating Machine is a specialized material handling and lifting system engineered to precisely rotate, tilt, or invert heavy stamping dies in a safe, controlled manner.

Working Principle & Operation Process of Chain Electric Load Rotator

1. Positioning & Strapping: The stamping die set is moved under the gantry by a forklift or overhead crane. Protective sleeves are fitted to high strength alloy chains under die to prevent metal to metal friction.

2. Synchronous Lifting & Tensioning: A motorized drive powers the sprockets and maintains even tension on the chain loops. Before the full-height raise is started, the control system checks that the load is balanced.

3. Continuous Rotation: Two motorized chain drives constantly spin the die in the air. The soft start gear system eliminates shock loading and mechanical vibration to the cycle.

4. Secure & Lower Placement: Once the die has been rotated to the required angle, the machine safely lowers the die back onto the workstation or transport trolley.
